Bolgatanga, Feb 21, 2026 – Lively Minds, an early childhood development-focused non-governmental organisation, has donated office desks and chairs to the Upper East Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to support administrative work and strengthen collaboration in the education sector.
It also donated paper shredder machine to the directorate.
The donation, presented to the Regional Directorate in Bolgatanga, formed part of efforts to reinforce the long-standing partnership between Lively Minds and GES in promoting quality early childhood education in the region.
Mr Frederick Nangtomah, Global Operations Manager of Lively Minds, said the gesture was intended to enhance the operational capacity of the Regional Directorate.
“Lively Minds today decided to donate some office desks and chairs to the Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service to support their activities. We hope they will be able to use them in their offices to facilitate their work,” he said.
He explained that the donation was necessary as part of strengthening the organisation’s ongoing collaboration with GES, particularly as Lively Minds continued to serve as a technical partner in the delivery of its programmes.
Mr Nangtomah noted that Lively Minds had operated in the Upper East Region for more than 10 years, describing it as one of the first regions where the organisation began its interventions.
“This is a strong and long-standing collaboration. Though partnerships may change in nature over time, the friendship and collaboration we have with the Ghana Education Service in the region and nationwide continue to grow from strength to strength,” he said.

He emphasised that while the impact of classroom teaching was often visible, administrative and support roles within the education system were equally critical to achieving quality outcomes.
“Without the functions and roles that operate behind the scenes, we will not be able to deliver the quality education we want for our children in their early years,” he stated.
Mr Nangtomah reiterated that Lively Minds’ core focus remained improving early childhood education and development in Ghana through play-based learning approaches, empowering mothers as key partners in education, running radio programmes such as “Lively Minds Together”, and providing technical assistance to GES.
Receiving the items, Mr Razak Abdul-Korah, Upper East Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, expressed profound appreciation to Lively Minds for the support.
“On behalf of my colleagues in the Regional Education Office, I want to express our highest level of appreciation to Lively Minds,” he said.
He acknowledged the long-standing partnership between the organisation and GES, noting that their collaboration dated back several years and had contributed significantly to early childhood education delivery in the region.

Mr Abdul-Korah said although the results of pre-school interventions might not be immediately visible, their long-term impact becomes evident as children progress through the lower primary levels.
“Our pre-school activities may not yield fruit instantly, but when we track the learners from Class One to Class Three, we begin to see the outcomes of what was started years ago,” he said.
He described the donated furniture as significant support to the Directorate’s work and assured the organisation that the items would be put to good use for the benefit of education delivery in the region.
He further pledged that the Directorate would continue to engage Lively Minds for technical support where necessary and expressed hope that future opportunities for collaboration would arise.
